Netflix reveals the Paranormal World with trailer and key art
Netflix, the world's leading streaming entertainment service, released the trailer for the highly anticipated series “Paranormal”, available on the 5th of November. The highly anticipated series is based on the best-selling thriller novel series with the same name “Paranormal” by the late Ahmed Khaled Tawfik.
“Paranormal” will be released in 190 countries around the world and available in over 32 languages. It will also be dubbed into 9 different languages including: English, Spanish, French, Turkish, German, etc. “Paranormal” will also be the first Egyptian Original show that will have audio and written descriptions for disabled individuals.
About Paranormal
Refaat Ismail, a cynical Hematologist with a dark sense of humor, goes through a “journey of doubt” as his world is turned upside down after his lifelong scientific convictions are questioned. The plot commences in 1969, when Refaat Ismail enters his 40s, and begins to experience paranormal activities. Throughout the season, Refaat is accompanied by his university colleague, Maggie, as they enter the paranormal world and try to save their loved ones from the immense danger that surrounds them. The story is based on the best-selling thriller novel series with the same name “Paranormal” by Ahmed Khaled Tawfik.
Brief about the characters
Dr. Refaat Ismail
Refaat Ismail is the main character of Paranormal books. He’s a cynical Hematologist with a sharp temper and distinctive physique. He’s messy, gloomy and nihilist with an absolute carelessness towards the world. He’s unable to express his feelings, which is why he only ever loved one woman, his college mate Maggie, a love that he never confessed. During the show, he faces a series of supernatural events and tries to unravel them to convince himself -being a man of science- that the Paranormal world does not exist.
Maggie Mckillop
Maggie Mckillop is Dr. Refaat’s love interest, to whom he never confessed his love. She’s a Scottish physicist who Dr. Refaat met during getting his PHD at the University of Dundee. Maggie is an extremely delicate person and accompanies Dr. Refaat during his adventures in the first season. She can also speak relatively fluent Arabic.
Howaida Abdulmoniem
Howaida Abdulmoniem is Dr. Refaat’s fiance who works as a music teacher at an Egyptian school. She’s had a strong relationship with Dr. Refaat at an early age due to her tight bond with his sister Raeefa. Howaida holds a special place in Dr. Refaat’s heart but struggles immensely with filling the void left by his first love. Howaida plays a central role in the events that Refaat goes through in the series.
