August 2018 - Extras: "Journey Within" Taos Glamping Adventure
Soon, visitors to New Mexico will be able to explore the majestic yet remote Taos wilderness in unprecedented comfort and style thanks to a new glamping experience from Heritage Inspirations, a partner of Heritage Hotels. The three-day, two-night adventure incorporates hiking, sunset yoga and stand up paddleboarding, The first of these tours, entitled "Journey Within" is scheduled for August 10-12, 2018, and as a bonus, will allow for spectacular viewing of this year’s Perseid meteor showers.
The Journey Within tour departs from and returns to Taos’ acclaimed El Monte Sagrado Resort. The experience incorporates active outdoor activities, like sunset yoga in the Rio Grande Valley, stand up paddle boarding on Lake Abiquiu and hiking in Ghost Ranch. Heritage Inspirations not only handles all logistics but also transports luxury camping amenities to the remote locations and sets up everything for the guests’ comfort. “Our guests are astounded by the scope of what we provide,” said Heritage Inspirations owner Angelisa Murray, “things like spacious canvas tents, deluxe foam pad mattresses on custom built wooden bed frames, farm-to-table gourmet meals, colorful textiles, even small thoughtful extras like a dream catcher hung above each bed and an evening toast of wine.”
The inspiration for this immersive New Mexican experience came to Murray as she gazed out on her own backyard at Taos Mountain. “I thought how infrequently travelers get to Taos and Northern New Mexico, yet how spectacular the area is, and I just knew I had to find a way to share the glory of this place,” said Murray. “This isn’t just about art, but about the incredible land, the longstanding and unique heritage, and the special spirit that permeates the area.”
The kick-off tour is scheduled for August 10-12, 2018 and will start and end at Taos’ El Monte Sagrado Resort. Additional dates include October 5-7, featuring spectacular night skies due to the new moon on October 8. 2019 dates include May 31-June 2 (right before the new moon) and August 30-September 1(with the new moon at perigee, or closest to earth.)
