September 2017 - Turn it Up: Maddie & Tae

Country-pop sensation Maddie and Tae are gracing the stage at Inn of the Mountain Gods on September 8th. Their catchy tunes and vibrant live performances have been taking the music scene by storm. Start Here, their debut album, produced the platinum-certified hit single “Girl in a Country Song,” which led to ACM, CMT, and CMA award nominations.

How are you been enjoying the success of your first album?

The response we have received since the release of Start Here has been overwhelming! It's made us even more determined to keep sharing our truth and giving people a voice.

How did this duo become a reality?

We met 7 years ago and started writing together. We had magic in the writing room right away, so it was a no brainer to become a duo.

Who are your musical influences?

Growing up we loved listening to Lee Ann Womack and the Dixie Chicks. We are currently loving Jillian Jacqueline, Johnnyswim, and Lizzo.

Where does the inspiration for your music come from?

We love to write what we're feeling, no matter what. Sometimes, it's a happy feeling, but sometimes, it can be heavy. We just always strive to be 100% honest with our fans.

What can we expect for this tour/concert?

We're going to have fun! We'll play songs from our first album but also give some sneak peeks into the new record. We'll throw in some fun covers, too.

What are your plans for your next album?

We currently still in the process of writing our sophomore album. Even though we feel like we could make a record right now with the songs we've got, we'll probably keep writing up until the last minute!
