NME After Print: "Longmire" to Film its Fifth Season in New Mexico


New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced today that the television series Longmire, produced by The Shephard/Robin Company in association with Warner Horizon Television for Netflix, will begin principal photography at the end of March and film through the end of June in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Los Alamos (Valles Caldera), Espanola, Glorieta and Pecos.

Starring Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, Lou Diamond Phillips, Cassidy Freeman and Adam Bartley, Longmire is based on the Walt Longmire Mystery novels by best-selling author Craig Johnson. The contemporary Western drama returns for its fifth season with the unflappable Sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor) unraveling the dark, mysterious secrets of Absaroka County, Wyoming. The new season will stream this fall on Netflix.

"'Longmire' is more than just a great show, it truly showcases the incredible beauty of Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico, and continues to help grow our reputation as one of the country's leading film communities," said Santa Fe Mayor Javier M. Gonzales. "We're excited they are coming back and looking forward to seeing what happens next in the season!"

We are grateful for the many positive economic impressions they leave on so many businesses throughout Las Vegas."

The production will employ approximately 150 New Mexico crew members and approximately 1,050 New Mexico background talent throughout the season.
