NME After Print: The New Mexico Film Office Announces "Midnight Texas" to Film in New Mexi

New Mexico Film Office Director Nick Maniatis announced today that the television pilot "Midnight Texas," produced by Universal Television and David Janollari Entertainment for NBC, will begin principal photography mid-March through the beginning of April in Albuquerque and Las Vegas.

"Albuquerque is pleased that 'Midnight Texas' will be filming in and around our city, including sets and production offices at Albuquerque Studios," said Albuquerque Mayor Richard J. Berry. "We welcome back Universal Television and NBC for this pilot."

"Las Vegas, New Mexico is pleased to welcome the cast and crew of the television pilot 'Midnight Texas' to our vibrant, versatile and vivacious community. We are grateful for the positive economic impact this television pilot and others bring to our community," said Las Vegas Mayor Alfonso E. Ortiz, Jr.

The production will employ approximately 150 New Mexico crew members and approximately 90 New Mexico background talent.

"Midnight Texas" is executive produced by Monica Owusu-Breen ("Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Lost"), David Janollari ("Six Feet Under") and Niels Arden Oplev ("The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Mr. Robot"), who will also direct the pilot.

Starring Dylan Bruce ("Orphan Black," "Heroes Reborn"), Sarah Ramos ("Parenthood," "American Dream") and Arielle Kebbel ("Ballers," "UnReal"), the pilot is set in the town of Midnight, Texas, where the real world and the supernatural collide in a dangerous, sexy place full of dark secrets and mysterious people. It's a small town where asking the wrong question or overstaying your welcome could get you killed. Stop at the one traffic light in town and everything looks normal; stay a while and learn the truth....
